Funding for Preventing Lead Poisoning Shrinking
The Huffington Post reports that “funds for the CDC’s Lead Poisoning Prevention Program” have been cut 93 percent and have left many frustrated. According to the Post, lead poisoning prevention funding dropped from $29.2 million to $2 million in the past year. The Post said, “Each dollar invested in lead paint hazard control results in a return of $17 to $221, according to the US Economic Policy institute.” Advocacy groups are working to regain better funding support.
